Stories of the fae folk have been around for centuries. Sometimes helpful, sometimes wicked, they always move a good fairy tale along. It’s no wonder we love to dress as them for all occasions – from Tinkerbell cosplays to creating a dark fairy persona of your own. Fairy wings for cosplay, costumes and every day are a fun way to add some magic to your life.
Your wings are the pinnacle piece to your fairy ensemble. They tell a lot about your fairy’s personality and nature. A woodland fairy may have wings modeled after a butterfly or dragonfly, for example. Or a moon or dark fairy may have shaded wings in blues, blacks and silver. Spring fairies may have wings with iridescent colors of the rainbow or bright, vivid hues to match the flowers in their hair.
How to Make a Fairy Costume Tips
When creating your fairy costume, you may want to start with wings first, as the color, style, and shape will set the tone for the rest of your fairy costume, including outfit, headdress, arm guards and other accessories.
Whether you plan on purchasing your entire fairy outfit or making most of it, the wings may be the hardest part to find. You don’t want to make a one-of-a-kind costume only to find you can’t purchase wings to match!
To help, we have rounded up some amazing fairy wings for sale by designers and artists that we think are perfect for fairy costumes for renaissance faires, comic cons, and every day cosplay. We’ve selected some in a range of prices, so you can find fairy wings that fit your budget. Have some cool wings? Please send us a picture as we would love to share!
